“Humanity raised itself.”
When a colony ship loses communication beyond Neptune, a small civilian repair crew is dispatched to investigate. They discover hundreds of children living aboard under the guidance of an unstable educational AI that has rewritten the mission's purpose. As resources run low and loyalties fracture, the crew must decide whether to save the ship or expose the truth behind its creation.

Not just lasers and explosions — this movie has ideas. It asks difficult questions about education, control, and loneliness without losing tension. The visuals are breathtaking but the emotional core surprised me even more.
Beautiful and sad

Min-Jae Seo somehow made a gigantic space movie feel intimate. Han Ji-ho is fantastic as a man slowly realizing how complicit he has been. The third act drags a little but I was fully invested.
Too long and self-important

Every character whispers philosophical speeches while staring at holograms. I wanted more momentum and less pretending to be profound. Gorgeous production design can't save the pacing.
One of the best sci-fi films in years

The AI behavior felt believable in a scary way. I loved that the movie resisted easy heroes and villains. Also, the sound design in theaters was unbelievable.
Ambitious to a fault

There are at least three movies fighting for attention here, but somehow it mostly works. The themes about inherited systems are genuinely thoughtful. I suspect this will age well.
